Some of our members relaxing on the Ile Grande for lunch
Recovering from sampling the French food and night life of Lannion the team set off bright and early to the 4 superb clay courts at Trebeurden. In glorious sunshine some Plestin players joined us for Ben's tie-break tournament with rewards for clean winners and penalties for double faults. After adjourning for a picnic lunch at nearby Ile Grande the tournament continued with Emma winning.
The final day's tennis, again in wonderful weather, was played on the 2 acrylic courts at Plestin with the inclusion of their coach strengthening the host team. Four hours of tennis were interspersed with trips to the local market.
The highlight of the session was the masterclass singles performance by the reigning over-65's regional champion, Alain who put Mark and Adam through their paces.
Some players even tried their hand at beach tennis in the afternoon.
Although the travelling schedules were slightly altered:- the delayed departure from Launceston due to Ben's 11th hour discovery of his missing passport and the tour of Brittany-Roscoff via Brest airport - thanks to Helen and Penny's driving skills all ferries were caught.
13 hours of tennis, 3 different surfaces, good friendly competition - a great weekend!
