DOUBLES

The group for the junior doubles was held on Thursday 25th August with 5 pairs playing 7 games against
each other - the best two in the group to play the junior doubles final on finals day September 11th.

Cousins Simon Cornish and James Coumbe had fun, played some great shots - were the experts on volleying on the base line but
did not quite manage a win. The other four pairs were very close, with some great tennis and not too many family meltdowns with 2 brother and sister pairings - Ben and Lauren Bryant and Chris and Issy Thorns. The all girls team of Charlotte Halls and Emma Gillard started well but after a fantastic singles game against each other ran out of steam for their next doubles. The boys pairing of Matthew Ryall and Josh Cavey started slowly but got going and won their last 3 matches .

The two pairs at the top of the group who will contest the final are Chris and Issy and Matt and Josh.

The girls had a busy afternoon as they played their group at the same time, 5 games against each other. This was a very close group with the final scores being 9 8 7 and 6 . The two finalists being Charlotte and Emma .
