Launceston Tennis Club – Newsletter March 2021

Dear Members,

Welcome back to tennis.  Following the AGM on 18th March here are the main points:

Tennis Restarts
As from 29th March we are allowed to play organised tennis.  On that evening we have not arranged anything – if you wish to play please organise your own matches.  We can play from 6p.m as the children are back at school.
Please use the hand gel inside the gate and follow social distancing rules, where possible.

Club Sessions
These will be as usual on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm (when James restarts his coaching after Easter only 1 court will be available on a Tuesday until 8pm)
Rusty Rackets (adult pay and play) is still on Thursdays from 6 to 7pm.
Family tennis will resume after the Easter holidays on Saturday mornings from 10 to 11 am
During the Easter holidays junior tennis has been organised for Thursday 8th and 15th – 1.30 to 3pm for primary and 3 – 5pm for secondary age.

Singles Evenings
These will run throughout April starting week beginning 5th – on Mondays for the stronger players and on Wednesday for those not so strong.  If you wish to play, please let Jenny know 07766592519.

League matches
These will commence at the beginning of May.  We have entered one ladies team captain Ruth – home matches on a Friday and two mens teams captains Henry and Tim – home matches on a Monday.  When the fixtures are arranged they will be put on to the website.

Court availability
As always, we have access to the courts from 6pm on schooldays and at weekends.  The school Easter holiday runs from 2nd to 19th April when we have unrestricted access to the courts.
